Strange behavior for superscript text

José Carlos Santos
Hi all:

Please consider this HTML file:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" lang="en">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<title>Test</title>
</head>
<body>
<p>An<i>H</i>&cap; example</p>
</body>
</html>

If I see it with Amaya it looks correct: what I get is the word "An"
followed by an italic H and an intersection symbol in superscript and
then a space and the word "example".

Now add the line

<link href="index.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />

to the header and suppose that the index.css file contains only this line:

p {text-align : justify}

Then something strange happens: the H and the intersection symbol get
moved to the right and are put over the word "example".

Is this a bug? I suppose so.

Best regards,

Jose Carlos Santos
