Curious difference between Amaya and Chrome

Carl Gross
Hi All,

I have a very simple HTML file that is appearing as expected in my browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE), yet slightly different in Amaya.  The code is as follows:

<html>
<body>
<img src="Desktop/image1.jpg"/>
</body>
</html>

The inserted image (which I have attached) is green with some text on the right side.  The browsers are properly displaying both the color and text, while Amaya is not displaying the text.  How can I resolve this?  Is there some Amaya setting that I'm missing?  I can attach browser and Amaya screenshots if necessary.

Thanks,

Carl

I have on occasion seen cases where Amaya didn't show jpg images
although they displayed fine in browsers. I think converting the image
to PNG usually helped. My guess is that the jpg library used by Amaya is
either not as up-to-date or not as bugwards compatible as the libraries
used in browsers. But that's just a guess.

Regards,   Martin.

Hi,

I remember that Amaya had some problems to display big images.
I made a test on the linux version with the attached image, it is indeed
not displayed, I reduced the width to 1000px and it works.

Hope it helps,
Laurent

Yes indeed, changing the size of the image (in a 3rd party program) from 3000 x 2250 to 800 x 600 resolved my problem.  Is this a known issue with Amaya?
