[Bug 26532] New: [FO3.1] A higher-order sort() function for XPath

Bugzilla from bugzilla@jessica.w3.org
https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=26532

            Bug ID: 26532
Summary: [FO3.1] A higher-order sort() function for XPath
Product: XPath / XQuery / XSLT
           Version: Working drafts
          Hardware: PC
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Functions and Operators 3.1
          Assignee: [hidden email]
          Reporter: [hidden email]
        QA Contact: [hidden email]

Encouraged by mild enthusiasm for the idea expressed "in the corridors" at the
F2F, I have written a proposal for a higher-order sort() function, to remedy
the omission that XPath currently has no sorting capability.

The proposal can be found here (member-only):

--- Comment #1 from Michael Kay <[hidden email]> ---
After email discussion, functions fn:sort() and array:sort() have been added to
the 3.1 working draft, and the WG decided to accept this as the status quo,
while inviting WG members to review and comment on the specs.
